Advanced Stroke Development and Water Safety Program
The Advanced Stroke Development and Water Safety Program takes the skills your children have learned previously and builds on them, perfecting known skills with an emphasis on gaining endurance as they progress to deeper water and longer, more intensive lessons.
Breaststroke and Butterfly drills are introduced, as well as Freestyle Turns, Touch Turns and Dives to prepare your child for entry into our Junior Squad Levels.

Mako Shark (Only at Norwood)
Length: 45 Minutes
Class Size: 7
Learning aims
This class is designed to introduce Breaststroke kick as well as continuing the endurance work for Bi-lateral breathing and backstroke from Barracuda or equivalent. They will also learn how to effectively tread water for an extended period of time.
Must have completed Barracuda or equivalent.

Tiger Shark
Length: 45 Minutes
Class Size: 7
Learning aims
This class is designed to build upon the Breaststroke kick from Mako and introduce Breaststroke arms. They will also learn how to do a somersault in preparation for Tumble Turns as well as continuing work on endurance and technique for Freestyle and Backstroke.
Findon - Must have completed Barracuda or equivalent
Mt Barker - Must have completed Swordfish or equivalent
Norwood - Must have completed Mako Shark or equivalent.

Hammerhead
Length: 45 Minutes
Class Size: 8
Learning aims
This is class is designed to introduce Butterfly arms to add to the Butterfly kick they learnt in Barracuda. They will also refine their Breaststroke, Backstroke and Freestyle techniques they have learnt in previous levels. They will also learn how to do a Tumble Turn and practice diving technique.
Must have completed Tiger Shark or equivalent.

White Pointer
Length: 45 Minutes

Learning aims
This class is designed to introduce Touch Turns, and perfect the 4 strokes (Freestyle, Backstroke, Breaststroke, Butterfly) in preparation for the Junior Squad program.
Must have completed Hammerhead Shark or equivalent.
