At Swim Plus we are always looking for new swimming instructors. Swimming instructors that have a passion and patients for teaching children and adults.
- Minimum age to become a swimming instructor is 17 years
- No previous experience is needed
What qualifications do I need to become a swimming instructor?
Below is the qualifications that are needed to become a swimming instructor and the organisations to seek assistance from to help your gain your qualification in South Australia.
A Swimming and Water Safety Teacher accreditation
Once gained this qualification must be renewed every 3 years. There are opportunities to expand your accreditation including Infant and Preschool Aquatics, Teacher of Adults, Teacher of competitive strokes and Teacher of Aquatics-Access and Inclusion.
Royal Lifesaving Society Australia
A CPR Certificate (HLTAID009)
This certificate must be updated annually.
First Aid Training Adelaide CBD
Working with Children Check
Anyone working or volunteering with children in South Australia by law must have this check. The WWCC needs to be updated every 5 years. You can apply for a Working with Children’s check here.
